You might be having a hard time finding the perfect Latter Day Saints temple dress to wear on the most special day of your life. It is not really going to be an easy affair looking for the perfect dress, especially if you are going to be a Latter Day Saints bride. You are going to undoubtedly have to submit to the specific requirements that your religious affiliation is going to make you adhere to.

For one, an LDS wedding dress or temple dress is something that you need to wear all throughout the ceremony. If you are going to be wed in the temple, then you need to be sure that your wedding gown is something that is going to be acceptable according to temple standards. It should be modest since the Latter Day Saints religion has a stricter code of modesty as compared to other religions. Yes, it's true that there are myriads of selections in terms of looking for a wedding gown, but then, many of them may not be suitable to your particular wedding.

To be sure that your wedding dress or LDS temple dress is "temple-ready," you need to make sure that the temple dresses that you are considering adhere to the following criteria:

1. Its color should be pure white, no more, no less. Colors like champagne, beige, ivory, and ecru will more or less not pass the standards of the temple matron, so you need to be sure to keep it simple and stick to the standard white wedding gown.

2. You should go for a long sleeved wedding gown or temple dress since it is needed for the sealing ceremony. This can be the hard part, since most white wedding gowns these days do not have sleeves or have short sleeves, at most. You might need to have one custom-made just to suit your temple's demands. If you do not have the budget, then you can go for false sleeves, or better yet, go to a wedding dress rental shop that rents out LDS temple dresses.

3. You should make sure that your gown adheres to the strictest standards of modesty. Absolutely no backless or low-cut bodices. To look more fashionable, you can have a neckline covering your collarbone. Who says being modest can't be fashionable, right?

4. Make sure that your skirt is floor-length and covers your shoes.

5. There shouldn't be any long trains in the sealing ceremony, so if your gown has a train, then make sure that it is detachable to avoid any hassles.

Whatever gown choice you have, what's important is that you know the true essence of your day, and that is to stay with the one you love forever. Being practical is going to really be helpful to you guys in the long run, and it wouldn't hurt you to go for a rental gown, instead.
